Sen. Katie Muth Sets Off Twitter-Storm With Kobe Tweet

State Senator Katie Muth, (D, SD-44; Berks, Chester Montco) tweeted a response to Governor Tom Wolf last night, claiming that the former Lower Merion High School and Los Angeles Laker start was a “credibly accused rapist with DNA.”

To the surprise of no one, Muth’s tweet set off a chain of angry responses, some of which noted that the underwear worn by Bryant’s accuser to the rape exam room, contained sperm from another man, along with Caucasian pubic hair.

Muth, who does not have a reputation for backing away from a fight, fired back with more tweets attacking Kobe. And to the surprise of no one, her additional tweets brought dozens more angry retorts as well as some supportive responses.

    Muth is a disgrace.

She uses here status as victim of sexual assault to beat on opponents and her own party.

She uses survivors and dumps them at the first sign of conscience. Absolute slimeball

Muth treats her staff – who have mainly been women – like crap. She’s abusive and a bully. Several CREDIBLE complaints have been filed against her.

Yet again Senator Katie Muth has shown that she was unworthy of the support of those that helped get her elected. She is a thoughtless politician who only cares about herself. That she would select this moment to deepen the pain being experienced by so many is not surprising to me or any of the people who have worked for her and filed multiple CREDIBLE complaints against her in the Senate. Katie should focus on giving those that she bullied & abused in her employ a voice & stop being a hypocrite! She has either fired or forced out at least nine people in her first year. All of those people, including myself, have lost their health insurance, their income, their livelihood… she should focus on helping them instead of hurting others. Abuse is abuse, and she is perpetrating an abusive environment in her office. Let’s see if she gives those people a voice and encourages people to believe their stories. #DoBetterTryHarder #WeExpectMoreFromOurLeaders

Want to Try Luge? From Lower Merion, It Starts With a Drive to Lake Placid

I was watching the Luge on NBC over the weekend. I thought it was boring, especially when juxtaposed against the more dramatic events, like curling.  The color commentator kept explaining how each “slider” was doing something slightly better or worse than the others, but to my untrained eye, they all looked the same: feet first, […]

These Garments Have Been Politically Maligned

Most non-Arabs who wear the keffiyeh do not intend it to be Anti-Semitic in any way. They wear it as an expression of sympathy for Palestinian civilians, support for human rights, concern about war, or identification with a broader cause of national identity and self-determination. In their minds, it is directed toward Palestinians, not against […]

What Does My Fountain Pen Have In Common With The Former Lord & Taylor In Bala Cynwyd?

Both come out of the work of Raymond Loewy and his design firm. Raymond Loewy (1893–1986) helped define what modern America looked like in the mid-20th century. Through his design firm, he worked across an unusually wide range of industries—transportation, consumer products, branding, and architecture—often simultaneously. No one in history is more closely associated with […]

January 16-18: The Philly Pen Show — A Delightfully Analog Experience

f you’re looking for a break from screens, alerts, and endless scrolling, the Philly Pen Show might be the cure—at least temporarily. It’s an unapologetically analog event: pens, paper, ink, and the people who still care deeply about them. Whether you’re a serious collector, someone who misses the feel of writing by hand, or just […]
