Aces Fall In State Semi-Finals

It was a close one between @aceshoops and @WoodBoysBball last night, but the Vikings came out on top to stay undefeated.@jmverlin with the story on Wood earning a spot in the state championship:https://t.co/qnERgVoGC9

The Lower Merion Aces basketball team’s season came to an end Tuesday night (March 23). After winning the District One Class 6A Title against Abington, Lower Merion ran into Catholic League Champions, Arch Bishop Wood in a game played at Lower Merion. Notwithstanding Wood’s unbeaten record and gaudy national ranking (9th), the Aces came up just a little bit short of pulling off a huge upset, losing 72-68.

Lower Merion’s “big man” – 6-foot-9 junior Demetrius Lilley finished with a game-high 25 points, 12 of those coming in the second quarter. Zack Wong hit three 3-pointers in the first quarter in scoring 12 points while Sam Brown connected of three first-half threes as he registered 11 points. Jaylen Shippen and Sam Davison both chipped in 10 points for the Aces (11-5), who were looking to reach its first state final since winning the 4A championship in 2013. Read more PAPrepLive.

Arch Bishop Wood will play Reading for the state championship on Saturday night (March 27) in Hershey.

f you’re looking for a break from screens, alerts, and endless scrolling, the Philly Pen Show might be the cure—at least temporarily. It’s an unapologetically analog event: pens, paper, ink, and the people who still care deeply about them. Whether you’re a serious collector, someone who misses the feel of writing by hand, or just […]
